Evolution, not revolution! Corporate Governance Rating 2005 The third edition of the corporate governance rating by the Polish Forum for Corporate Governance, elaborated in cooperation with the daily Rzeczpospolita, shows that the level of corporate governance solutions in public companies becomes higher. This translates into promotion of particular companies up to higher rating categories and into lower investment risk in respect of corporate governance. In this year’s edition of the rating, the highest category A consisted of three companies, namely Bank BPH, Bank Zachodni WBK, and Agora. |

The PFCG is a platform of professional discussion and a source of recommendations on corporate governance issues. In general, there are three goals standing behind the PFCG creation.
Firstly, PFCG will be a vehicle for creating, "importing" and disseminating knowledge on corporate governance; this should lead to creation of a critical mass of knowledge, especially among decision makers.
Secondly, Polish Forum will be diagnosing the functioning of Polish corporate governance mechanisms. This rather academic "activity" is run jointly by the Institute as well as other researchers. For instance, GIME is currently involved in two interesting projects sponsored by Centre for International Private Enterprise (CIPE) and State Committee for Scientific Research (KBN). We were also honoured to work for the European Corporate Governance Institute (ECGI).
The third objective of the Polish Forum for Corporate Governance is to make recommendations and submit particular solutions (for instance, code of good practice in corporate governance).
