First year of PFCG activity
source: PFCGIt is now one year, since the Polish Forum for Corporate Governance (PFCG) - an open platform to discuss corporate governance issues in Poland - has been created by the Institute for Market Economics (GIME). The Forum goal is to articulate opinions, assessments and recommendations concerning the existing and the desirable corporate governance system - i.e. institutional mechanisms affecting behaviour and functioning of Polish companies.
The first year of the Polish Forum for Corporate Governance activity was mainly devoted to preparing a draft corporate governance code for Polish listed companies. The need and intention to prepare such a code of good practice was announced by GIME in the article initiating the PFCG activity published in the daily "Rzeczpospolita" on the 4th April 2001. It was the only public declaration to undertake measures leading to creating the corporate governance code at that time.
